General Device Troubleshooting

Let’s start with the basics:

Typical issues with your card machine stem from one of three issues:

  1. Connectivity issues (most common)

  2. Device issues

  3. Printer issues

The first point of call is to always check the internet connection:

  • Ensure your card machine has a stable data connection (e.g., via Wi-Fi or cellular data).

  • Check your signal strength or connectivity settings specific to your card machine model.

  • If possible, attempt to reinitialize your network connection or switch between available connection methods (e.g., Wi-Fi to cellular data).

Troubleshooting Printer Malfunctions

If your card machine is failing to print receipts or other documents, try the following steps:

  • Clean the Printer Area: Open the printer compartment and gently clean the area to remove any dust or debris that might block the printer.

  • Reinsert the Paper Roll: Remove and reinsert the paper roll in the printer compartment. If the issue persists, flip the roll and insert the other end to ensure the thermal side of the paper is facing correctly.

  • Restart the Device: After reseating the paper roll, restart the card machine. This resolves most printer-related issues.


If it is not a connectivity issue, restarting your card machine can often resolve the issue!

Here’s how:

  1. Hold Down the Power Button: Press and hold the power button until the device turns off.

  2. Wait for It to Power Down: Allow a moment for the machine to fully shut down.

  3. Turn It Back On: Press the power button again to restart your device.

If a regular restart doesn’t resolve the issue, you may need to perform a hard reset:Persistent transaction issues can also often be resolved with a hard reset.

  1. Turn Off the Device: Ensure that the device is completely powered down.

  2. Remove the Battery: Open the back of the device and carefully take out the battery.

  3. Wait 3 Seconds: Give it a brief moment before reinserting the battery.

  4. Reinsert the Battery: Place the battery back in and turn the machine on.
